Individuals living in spaces having moderate weather conditions are not quite able to understand the importance of air conditioning whose abbreviation is AC. People living in areas that experience extreme warmness during summer and freezing during winter understand better how important AC is. Majority of those owning air conditioning devices hardly know how they work. Most individuals are not attentive to how they work but happily enjoy the pleasure the machines present. When in search of Air conditioning service Tulsa should be given priority.

AC is a technology that has a very long history. People started getting interested in this technology as early as 1758. However, efforts to develop AC units did not come to fruition until early 1900s, when the first AC was developed. The inventor of the machine is called Willis Carrier and the first unit was introduced in 1902. The commissioning of the first unit happened in New York.

The functioning of the very first unit that Carrier developed remains the same as the basis of functioning of modern units. In the first units, warm air found inside the house was blown over cold pipe coils. The coil of pipes absorbed the heat from the air, leading to a drop in temperature. The air was then pumped back into the building to lower interior temperature.

Following the huge success that the initial AC units received, Carrier established a company referred to as Carrier Air Company. The first units were very successful and well received in the market that they were still in use in homes up to as late as 1994. Someone named Charles Gilbert Gates was the first individual to have the first AC installed in their home. Gates lived in Minneapolis and the house was a mansion.

The ac unit developed by Carrier drew the interest of many people and in 1931 a new invention was made by H. H. Schultz and J. Q. Sherman. These two developed an AC unit that had the capability of cooling individual rooms. The unit was placed on window ledges in order to work. Later in 1939, an AC unit meant for cooling the interiors of vehicles was developed.

Acquiring initial units was a little bit expensive and them being invented at a time of great depression, they were not used a lot in homes. However, there was a lot of change in 1950 as more homes began to use these units. Central AC units substituted window units in the 1970s. Currently, both central units and window units are used.

Ever since AC units were introduced all those years ago, their adoption continues to happen every day. They are a common site in offices in developed nations. In fact, it is one of the requirements for having an office. AC units have also been adopted a lot in the residential setting. People continue to realize their benefits and as such, they continuously buy and install them in their homes.

Apart from making the atmosphere inside a building cool, AC units also help in making the spaces comfortable so that they can be occupied by human beings. For the realization of high employee performance, making a comfortable environment in work places is necessary. AC units also function as air purifiers which help in reducing cases of illness in work places.
