Why Do Animals Eat Hamburgers?

By John Wyattson

If you ask my family or friends, they'll tell you my dog is a carnivore. He'll rip apart anything that's meaty; rib-eye steaks, Angus beef, ground pork, turkey all the meats of the world is my dog's buffet and it's all thanks to me. I love giving my dog meat; anything meaty in my hands, my dog will devour; anything meaty I have for leftovers, my dog will suck it up like a vacuum. It's conclusive that my dog is a carnivore thanks to me. Don't worry, he eats his regular dog food.

As you may know, beef patties are human food. They're used for hamburgers in most fast food restaurants and in barbeque cookouts. Beef patties are made of ground beef and are molded into the shape of patties. There's a heavy consideration to be feeding this to dogs because there are different types of patties that may be harmful to dogs. Some patties are made with preservatives; some patties are made with all-natural ingredients. There's not a single generic type of patty because people make all kinds of patties with a different recipe.

Some dogs develop a taste bud for the hamburger. Maybe they were pre-exposed to the scent of the burger; maybe they saw you eating a burger and thought they could try it; or maybe they stole a burger, ate it and loved it. Whatever the case, some dogs can develop a taste bud overtime. Don't be surprised if your dog jumps happily when they see your hamburger. It only means he has become a gourmet taster. Almost related to no.2. Some dogs find the burger a nice little treat. If you've been feeding the burger as a treat, they'll begin to like it as a treat. Whether you use it as a reward for doing tricks or you give it to them periodically, the burger becomes their little reward to work for.

Having a burger with their meals can add a zest of flavor. Maybe they find their dog foods dull so why not give them a burger? It encourages them to have more nutrients. While it is good to see some dogs liking hamburgers, you should never heed to their interests in burgers. You always have to re-consider the burger. All burgers are not equal so that's why it's best not to give all the burgers you see. Some burgers may be harmful to dogs. It can cause the dog to vomit or to have blood in their stool. It may cause a dog health problems. Some burgers may have ingredients that are a no-no to them. But there are some burgers that are good for dogs but only in moderation. It's obvious that you can't feed them cooked burgers or anything mixed with toxic ingredients like onions. There are also some burgers made with all-natural ingredients which can be good for the dog to absorb.

From that moment on, I start giving the Husky meat. Now, before you start bashing me with research about meat, I already did my research. The meat should be raw, it should not be cooked and there shouldn't be any bones that will injure the dog internally. So I always take into consideration what meat to give him. Thanks to that experience, Husky began to eat dog food too. But if only there's meat with it. Even a little piece of meat will convince to eat the whole bowl of dog food I give him. This is why I love giving my dog meat. Without meat, he wouldn't be eating and he wouldn't be able to sustain himself for life. Next time you see me give meat to my dog, you'll know it's because he needs to live.
