The Ultimate Slumber Party

By Elba Fenwick

Chances are if you have children or teens, they probably have asked you to plan a slumber party. Rather than just have kids haul over sleeping bags and eat mounds of chips and popcorn, why not take it up a notch and plan the world's best slumber party? With a bit of advance planning, you can create an amazing party for the kids.

You can select a theme for your party, such as a spa party or a Lego party or simply plan a series of events for the evening. The kids definitely need to have a few planned activities. You might consider having a karaoke contest, setting up a craft table, playing some games and winding down by showing a movie. You can even have the theme of the party center around the movie or vice-versa.

Aside from activities, the kids definitely will be looking forward to some yummy food. One eye-catching main dish might be one of those three-foot-long submarine sandwiches that you can get from your local deli or grocery store. Another fun option would be to set up a buffet of Mexican food staples and have the kids create their own custom tacos, nachos or burritos. A pasta bar is yet another option that might be fun or you could just fire up the grill and offer hamburgers and salads.

Your dinner is an important element, but the kids really look forward to having dessert so rather than providing a plate of cookies or brownies, look for something a bit out of the box - the pizza box, that is. Chocolate Pizza Company creates and ships many amazing varieties of gourmet chocolate pizza, and your children and their guests are sure to love this treat. The pizzas even arrive packed in actual pizza boxes, and the kids are sure to be amazed when you open the box and show off this unique dessert. Best of all, you don't even have to cook or clean up after dessert.

There are quite a few options to consider, and the pizzas are made by first creating a crust of melted chocolate blended with English toffee. You can choose a milk chocolate crust or dark chocolate crust and have it topped with nuts, candies, mini marshmallows and graham cracker chunks or just a swirl of white chocolate. There are also delicate white chocolate pizzas that are made by blending melted white chocolate with dried cranberries and almonds. You can even pair up your chocolate pizzas with Peanut Butter Wings. These special wings are a blend of creamy peanut butter and potato chips that are dipped either in dark chocolate or milk chocolate, and they are the perfect accompaniment to your gourmet chocolate pizza.

While it may be true that your guests don't plan on doing a great deal of sleeping, you will need to set up a cozy area for sleeping bags. You could also set out futon mattresses, mats or air mattresses for your guests and cover them with plenty of blankets and pillows. Put up some string lights to make things more festive and to provide a helpful nightlight.
