The Importance of Skin Hydration on the Process Of aging

When folks think about the causes behind their wrinkles, they oftentimes think about perpetrators such as sun damage or diminishing collagen levels. While these contributors are definitely to blame for their good share of wrinkles, the reality is that there's no one single cause which isn't only more common, but is also overlooked far too frequently. This is dehydration.

We have to understand that without proper skin hydration, not only will our body struggle to produce the proteins and enzymes important to maintain a more youthful appearance. But the indisputable fact that our skin is dried out can actually make the damaging effects of dehydration far more visible.

While water may not be instantly answerable for filling in our wrinkles, it's responsible for regulating loads of the processes which our skin is dependent on to stay firm and full.

For instance, in order for the body to process the proteins that we eat and continue to create new collagen, our body should first be regularly hydrated. Since water is used for lots of other processes throughout the body as well which are far more important to our survival than a young looking complexion, a failing to drink enough quantity of water each day will often show up in our face first.

Correct skin hydration is also extremely important when we talk about the absorption of topical products which we may use to battle the the visible signs of aging. That is the reason why it is fundamentally recommended that you apply a base layer of moisturising cream before applying any other products, including your suntan lotion or makeup. Since these products can oftentimes rob our skin of moisture all throughout the day, it is also commended that you apply a fresh layer of moisturizing cream at the day's end once all other products have been removed from your skin.
